How to pitch home servicesFor local SEO freelancers & agencies
Local SEO is easier to pitch when you can point to something specific. Prospect Signal researches local businesses from public Maps listings and their websites, then delivers a CSV with public contacts, the observation behind each row and a suggested opener.
Most local businesses get an SEO pitch every week, and most of those pitches are generic: “I can get you to the top of Google.” An owner has no reason to believe it. A message that mentions an actual, checkable observation about their listing or site is easier to take seriously.
Our research looks at what is publicly visible: the business’s Maps listing, its website and its public service pages. The aim is to find a concrete, honest reason to start a conversation about the local SEO service you sell, not to claim the business is losing customers or that you can guarantee rankings.
A listing shows one phone number or address while the website shows another. Inconsistent business details are a common, easy-to-explain local SEO topic.
A plumber lists six services on Maps but the website has a single page describing all of them. Dedicated service pages are a relevant offer.
A listing with reviews and photos but no linked website may be worth researching. A missing link alone does not prove there is no site, so research checks further.
A business says it serves several towns but its site only mentions one. Location content can be a reasonable conversation starter.
These are illustrative angles. An observation does not establish that the owner has a budget, wants SEO help or is unhappy with a current provider. Always open the source and confirm before you send anything.
Illustrative targeting example
For a fictional HVAC company whose listing shows a different phone number from its website, an opener might be: I noticed the number on your Maps listing doesn’t match the one on your site. That kind of mismatch is a quick fix and helps local search. Want me to send what I found?
Every pack uses the same 15 columns: Business Name, Niche/Category, City, State, Website, Business Phone, Additional Phone Numbers, Public Business Email, Contact Page / Social / Form, Google Maps / Source URL, Pain Signal, Evidence Note, Suggested Opener, Confidence Score and Notes.
For local SEO packs, the Google Maps / Source URL column links to where the business was observed, the Pain Signal names the local visibility issue, the Evidence Note says what was seen, and the Suggested Opener turns that into a first sentence you can adapt.
Website and email fields depend on what is publicly available, so a public email is not guaranteed for every row. The confidence score is the researcher's assessment of fit for your offer, not the probability of a sale. The delivery is an emailed CSV you can open in Google Sheets, Excel or a CRM.
Our recommended one-time pack is 250 prospects for $59 (about 24 cents each). Want to try it first? A 50-prospect starter is $20. Other one-time sizes are 100 for $29, 500 for $99 and 1,000 for $179. Monthly pipelines are $49 for 250 prospects, $79 for 500 and $149 for 1,000. Checkout runs through Stripe, and the finished CSV is emailed when research and quality checks are complete, typically within 1–3 hours for most packs and 6–8 hours for 1,000. Restrictive briefs in small areas can take longer. See the pricing page for current terms.
Local SEO freelancers and small agencies usually get the clearest read by picking one business type in one area, ordering a 50-prospect pack and running one specific local SEO offer. That pack is $20, about 40 cents per researched business. See full pricing for every pack size.
